Office Assistant

Employer: St. Mariana de Paredes Church

Description: St. Mariana de Paredes Church is currently seeking a part-time Office Assistant position responsible for professionally greeting visitors and handling telephone calls coming into the office as well as to perform a variety of clerical tasks. The work hours are weekday evenings and on Saturdays. This position reports to the Business Manager.

Requirements: Education & Experience •Candidate should have at minimum a high school diploma or equivalent; at least one completed year of college or an AA degree is preferred •Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are required for this position, both verbal and written •Previous administrative or clerical work experience is preferred; especially working in a church environment •Because all Archdiocesan employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work Knowledge, Skills & Abilities •Professional customer service skills, especially when interacting with visitors, parishioners, volunteers and parish staff in person or over the telephone •Proficiency in computer applications, especially experience with Microsoft Office software •Good verbal and communication skills •Working knowledge of general office procedures, taking accurate messages, keeping accurate records and filing, have good organization skills, etc. •Work independently and prioritize workload •Maintain confidentiality

Compensation: Archdiocesan Scale

Hours per week: Part-time
